Why I Extra Life

No Comments on Why I Extra Life

This Saturday at 8am EST I will be embarking on my 3rd year of the Extra Life video game marathon. I will play games for 24 hours to help raise money for the Children’s Specialized Hospital. As of this post I’ve raised nearly $300, and my team, ThatSportsGamer Crew, made of up players from around the country, has recently surpassed $2000 for our hospitals.

I’ve been extremely lucky in my life. To date, they only time I’ve been in a hospital was for a few stitches on my chin. The reason I Extra Life is because I know there are way more kids that haven’t had my luck. Many children have health issues or are involved in accidents that require the special attention that the great hospitals that are part of the Children’s Miracle Network provide.

It’s funny, we sit around, play video games for 24 hours and get a shirt that proclaims us “Hero” and we get wrist bands that say “Miracle Maker”. Those terms could not be further from the truth. The real heroes and miracle makers are the people who work at these hospitals that give these kids a chance at leading a normal life. I am just happy to be someone who tries to help out when I can.

So I ask, if you can spare a couple dollars, please click the image below.
