2K Sports is really good at making trailers. The question is will MLB 2K12 live up to the trailer?

MLB 2K12 hits stores March 6th on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, PC, PSP and PS2. Interesting, Sony’s own MLB 12: The Show is not even coming out on the PS2 or PSP.

Special thanks to Dan Vitale for this weeks opening.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 Pre-Order Bonuses

Comments Off on Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 Pre-Order Bonuses

One of the things that stands out about the Tiger Woods PGA Tour series is the amount of DLC that is churned out for their games. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 follow suit and with that EA Sports is able to offer different pre-order bonuses because of that.

Origin – Free Expert Hybrid Clubs and virtual coin unlock.

Gamestop ( Xbox 360 version) – Free Wolf Creek Golf Club Download *Virtual coin unlock.

Gamestop (PlayStation 3 version) – Free TPC Blue Monster at Doral Download.

Amazon – Unlock code for a foursome of Jeremy Roenick, Mashall Faulk, Dwight Howard, and Sugar Ray Leonard. $10 Amazon.com credit.

Best Buy – Free Download of the Emerald Dragon Fantasy Golf Course.

Walmart – Free Expert Driver and Putter unlock.

It seems kind of odd to me that Best Buy would only be giving away a virtual coin unlock code with the Xbox 360 version of the game. It seems kind of odd that they would not choose do it for both versions of the game.

If I had to pick one, I would most likely go with the Amazon’s bonus. It seems interesting to put in stars from other sports into Tiger Woods. I’m a little surprised that someone like Tony Romo wasn’t chosen for the game, but still, watching 6’11” tall Dwight Howard swing a golf club could be pretty interesting.  Also, it is pretty much a foregone conclusion that the courses will eventually be DLC options.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 releases on Xbox 360 and PS3 on March 27th in both Standard and Collector’s Editions.

Grand Slam Tennis 2 – Total Raquet Control Video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bHVSKFkGE4

I’m excited for Grand Slam Tennis 2. I’ve been more of a Virtua Tennis fan in the past, but after playing some of Virtua Tennis 4, I felt like the controls were just a bit off.

EA’s Total Raquet Control looks like it could be the thing that brings the Grand Slam series to the forefront of tennis video games.

Grand Slam Tennis 2 will be available on PS3 and Xbox 360 starting February 14, 2012.

Aaron Rodgers Madden 12 Cover Athlete

2K Sports retires the MLB 2K franchise after poor sales of MLB 2K12.

2K is losing money on the exclusive license and they aren’t going to try to extend their deal with MLB. The NHL 2K line is also in the dumper, so I can see them continuing to focus on the NBA 2K series and letting MLB and NHL die.

EA Sports announces return to MLB video games.

This one is a no-brainer. Once the exclusive license is up EA will be back “IN THE GAME”. Ultimate Team for an MLB game will make them some crazy amount of money that I don’t even want to think about because a lot of it will come from me. I could see a re-started MVP series giving MLB: The Show the competition 2K should have, but never did.

NBA Elite 12 doesn’t make the NPD Top 10 in the month it is released (if it actually does get released).

Unlike 2K, EA is going to keep their toe in every sport they can. If NBA Elite 12 actually does come out I don’t see it selling well at all to start with. After ‘11 I really doubt anyone will have any confidence in the game. However, it will probably be a fairly decent game and depending on how well EA does in post launch support, it could be the start of something good.

Aaron Rodgers gets the Madden 13 cover.

Rodgers deserved it last year and got screwed, this year he deserves it more. Unless Tebow wins the Superbowl, there shouldn’t even be a vote, just give Rodgers the cover.

Matt Flynn

Matt Flynn will be the Matt Cassel for a new generation.

Matt Cassel quietly backed up Tom Brady for a few years, and when he got his chance to shine, he did and got rewarded with a big contract from the Chiefs.  When Matt Flynn got his chance, he set two Packer team records in one day. Someone is going to pay him to be their starter.

Packers will win the Super Bowl.

Packers are crazy good. That is all.

Tebow and Broncos will start 2012-13 season off 2-6. No longer the starter by their bye week.

I have this feeling that Tim Tebow is going to be the next Shane Spencer. What I mean is he came out and was pretty amazing, then people realized he couldn’t hit a curveball. If Tebow’s passing doesn’t get any better expect every team to line up nine men in the box vs him.
